Dentures

Imagine being able to savor your favorite meals, share a heartfelt smile, or speak with confidence—all without hesitation. Missing teeth can disrupt these simple joys, but they don’t have to permanently alter your enjoyment of life. Dentures are more than a dental appliance—they’re a gateway to feeling like yourself again.

At the Dental Group of Chicago, we’re here to offer a solution that restores not just your smile but your quality of life. With decades of combined experience and a passion for patient care, we understand how important it is to have a solution that not only restores your smile but also fits comfortably and feels natural. With our experience in crafting full and partial dentures, we aim to help you enjoy improved functionality and renewed confidence. Let us guide you toward a smile that feels as good as it looks.

How Can Dentures Improve Your Life?

Dentures can improve your quality of life quite dramatically, bringing back the function and beauty to the smile you’ve been missing. A few of the advantages dentures provide include:

  • Replacing your missing teeth and restoring your smile
  • Providing easier chewing and eating
  • Offering easier speech, including improved pronunciation and others’ ability to understand you
  • Protecting any remaining natural teeth
  • Boosting confidence and improving appearance
  • Offering a cost-effective solution, being less expensive than many alternatives
  • Comfortable and convenient
  • Easier to clean and maintain
  • Lowering the risk of dental issues, including decay, cavities, and bone loss

If you’re missing teeth and want to feel better about your eating, speaking, or appearance, dentures may be an excellent solution for you. Who Is Eligible for Dentures?

A vast number of patients are eligible for dentures, though a few factors may affect your candidacy and what dental options are available and safe for you. While the best way to determine your eligibility with any certainty is to come into our office for a consultation, the following descriptions generally apply to those who are good candidates for dentures:

  • Have multiple teeth too damaged for repair or are missing, generally due to dental issues
  • Healthy gums and jawbones that can support the dentures
  • Willing to maintain and properly care for dentures
  • Open to keeping up good oral hygiene routines
  • Want to take advantage of some of the benefits dentures offer

According to Cosmetic Dentistry Grants, patients with certain issues—including toothaches, periodontal disease, red or swollen gums, or loose or moving teeth—may also be strong candidates for dentures.

If you’re interested in learning more about your candidacy, please contact the Dental Group of Chicago to schedule your appointment. We’ll be happy to answer your questions and provide guidance during the entire process, whether we determine you’re a good fit for dentures or otherwise.

Generally, caring for your dentures should not be time-consuming or complicated, but we can give you a few helpful tips. The following are our recommendations for properly caring for your new dentures:

  • Rinse your dentures after eating or drinking anything other than water
  • Brush your dentures daily
  • Avoid abrasive cleaning materials, such as toothpaste with baking soda
  • Visit your dentist regularly, as recommended by your dental team
  • Soak your dentures at night, either in water or with a cleaning solution, based on directions from the manufacturer and your provider
  • Do not wear your dentures while sleeping
  • Use a soft-bristled toothbrush, to avoid damage from abrasives
  • Remember to maintain hygiene in the oral cavity, cleaning your mouth and gums
