Wisdom teeth, complex extractions, and surgical procedures handled close to home, with an outside referral only when a case calls for it.
Oral surgery covers procedures beyond a routine filling or cleaning, from removing an impacted wisdom tooth to placing a dental implant to treating advanced gum disease with osseous surgery. Most of these procedures are completed right in our Bucktown office rather than requiring a separate trip to an outside surgeon.
Cityview Dental Arts, the Dental Group of Chicago office serving Bucktown at 2232 W. Armitage Ave, handles the majority of oral surgery cases in house, with Dr. Bock and Dr. Youseffi coordinating any care that does need an outside referral.
Bucktown is a competitive neighborhood for dental care, and we earn patients by being genuinely convenient and thorough rather than by being the closest option on a map. Dr. Jerome Bock founded Cityview Dental Arts and continues to see patients here, alongside Dr. Melissa Youseffi, and together they handle general, cosmetic, and restorative dentistry in-house so most patients are not sent elsewhere for treatment.
We are also in-network with most major PPOs, including Delta Dental, MetLife, Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Guardian, and United Healthcare, and every visit includes the same comfort menu, heated blankets, warm neck pillows, and a coffee bar, that our patients have come to expect.

Dr. Bock founded Cityview Dental Arts and continues to treat patients from the Bucktown office today. His long history in the neighborhood means many patients have trusted him with their care for years, now backed by the resources of Dental Group of Chicago.

Dr. Youseffi joined the Cityview Dental Arts team in 2026, bringing additional capacity to the Bucktown office so patients can get the care they need without a long wait for an appointment.
Our Bucktown office handles wisdom tooth removal, complex or surgical tooth extractions, single implant placement, and osseous surgery for gum disease. More complex cases, such as a deeply impacted wisdom tooth or a case involving significant bone loss, may be referred to an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, with Dr. Bock or Dr. Youseffi staying involved in coordinating that care.
If you are unsure whether your situation needs surgery at all, a consultation is the best place to start.
The treatment area is fully numbed with local anesthesia before any procedure begins, and Dr. Bock and Dr. Youseffi explain each step as they go so nothing feels unexpected. The same comfort touches available at every visit, including a warm blanket and a neck pillow, carry over to oral surgery appointments.
Most patients need only a day or two to recover from a routine extraction or implant placement, with more involved procedures taking somewhat longer.
Your first visit includes a full exam and digital imaging so Dr. Bock or Dr. Youseffi can see exactly what a procedure involves before recommending next steps. From there, they will walk you through the recovery timeline and whether the case is one we can complete in house or one that calls for an outside referral.
Once any surgery is complete, we schedule a follow-up to confirm healing is on track.
We are in-network with Delta Dental, MetLife, Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Guardian, and United Healthcare, and our staff will help confirm what your plan covers before treatment begins.
For the portion insurance does not cover, financing options, including Cherry financing, are available so a payment plan can be built around your budget.
Dr. Jerome Bock and Dr. Melissa Youseffi handle most extractions, implant placements, and osseous surgery for gum disease directly at our Bucktown office, and they stay involved even on cases referred out for more complex surgery. That continuity means a familiar team throughout the process rather than being handed off with no follow-up.
Every oral surgery appointment includes the same comfort menu available across our office, including a warm blanket, a neck pillow, and a coffee bar in the waiting area.
Patients throughout Bucktown, Wicker Park, and Logan Square trust Cityview Dental Arts with oral surgery because the same doctors who see you for routine care stay involved through recovery. The American Dental Association’s patient guide to wisdom teeth is a helpful resource if you want to understand a common procedure before your visit.
If you think you may need oral surgery, we would love to see you at our Armitage Avenue office.
